History

of Community Bank Delaware

In July 2006, a group of local business men and women started Community Bank Delaware to serve the needs of people in our community.

Today the bank has grown to over $425 million in assets (as of June 30, 2025) and serves clients throughout Sussex County with business and consumer banking products. It is governed by a 9 member Board of Directors.

Our mission is to build and maintain the highest possible degree of customer, shareholder, employee and community loyalty.

  • We will ensure customer loyalty by providing quality products and services delivered by caring, capable banking professionals.
  • We will ensure shareholder loyalty by consistently growing earnings per share.
  • We will ensure employee loyalty by maintaining a challenging and rewarding work place that provides growth opportunities and stability for CBD employees.
  • We will ensure community loyalty through sharing our resources with those in need in our service area. We will donate a percentage of Net Income as determined by the Board of Directors to charities and people of need in Sussex County.
